Postpartum Recovery Shouldn't Feel This Hard

  • Just give it time

You're told to rest and wait, but weeks pass and nothing improves.

  • Your core will come back on its own

Generic advice ignores your actual movement patterns and goals.

  • This is just part of being a mom

Leaking, pain, and prolapse symptoms are common but never normal — and they are treatable.

Austin's Postpartum PT Clinic That Puts You First

Two women are engaging in a conversation, with one woman sitting at a table and the other sitting on a massage table with her legs crossed. The woman on the table has her hair tied back, wearing a dark long-sleeve shirt and purple shorts. The woman sitting at the table has glasses, long dark hair tied back, and wears a grey T-shirt. The scene is indoors, with tables and chairs visible in the background.

Getting Better Is Simpler Than You Think

  • Step 1: Relieve Your Pain

Your first visit starts with a thorough evaluation. We use hands-on manual therapy, dry needling, and targeted soft tissue techniques to reduce your sciatica pain fast—so you can start moving again.

  • Step 2: Fix the Root Cause

Pain relief is just the beginning. We dig into the movement patterns, muscle imbalances, and structural issues driving your sciatica, then build a personalized plan to correct them for good.

  • Step 3: Get Back—and Stay Back

Once you're pain-free, we don't just send you out the door. We build strength, resilience, and a long-term strategy so you can return to running, training, or whatever you love—and stay there.

  • "My experience with PT at Eastside Movement, and specifically with Dr. Emily Tran, has been nothing short of amazing! I began working with Dr. Emily Tran due to ongoing achilles pain while I was training for a 1/2 marathon. She is incredibly knowledgeable and intelligent, and throughout my recovery she took the time to educate me, involve me in the process, and help me truly understand my body."

  • "Erin Kelly is an amazing physical therapist. In my 20s and 30s, I've beat up my body with endurance races and assumed time and rest would resolve all problems. It wasn't until I started sessions with Erin that she made such immense progress with only a few sessions. I found Erin to be more knowledgeable with practical exercises than the 2 podiatrists I've seen."

  • "I had crippling back pain for two decades and got to a point where I couldn't walk more than twenty minutes without pain. I started seeing Amy and for the first time felt hope that I could live without pain. Amy gave me the tools, resources, and education to get my body back. I completed my first triathlon this year pain free thanks to my work with Eastside Movement."

Common Questions

Do you accept insurance for postpartum physical therapy?

We are an out-of-network, cash-based clinic. This means your treatment decisions are based entirely on your goals — not what insurance will approve. We provide superbills for potential out-of-network reimbursement, and we accept HSA and FSA payments. Pricing is discussed transparently during your free 15-minute phone consultation — no hidden fees, no surprise bills.

What does my first postpartum PT visit look like?

Your first visit is a full 60–75 minute one-on-one session with your Doctor of Physical Therapy — just you and your DPT, every time. We conduct a comprehensive whole-body evaluation covering your pelvic floor, core, movement patterns, and postpartum history to build a personalized treatment plan around your goals. Most clients work with us for 10–15 visits over 3–6 months.

What postpartum and pelvic health conditions do you treat?

We treat the full spectrum of postpartum and pelvic health conditions, including urinary leaking and incontinence, diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, C-section and perineal scar management, painful intercourse, pelvic and low back pain, SIJ dysfunction, sciatica, 'mommy thumb,' and safe return-to-exercise programming. We also offer prenatal PT and doula services. All genders are welcome.
