EMC Off Season Cycling Club
More time in the saddle isn’t the most efficient way to build strength, power, and durability on the bike.

Welcome to the off season.
It’s time to level up.
What’s the best way to become a faster cyclist?
A combination of riding your bike, interval training, and strength training.
Cyclists are great at putting in the miles but typically have no idea how to start strength training.
We worked together with David Wenger, cycling coach and founder of Durata Training, to develop the EMC Off Season Cycling Club to change that.
The off season is the best time to start and progress in a strength training program to get stronger and faster for 2023.

Who’s this for?
Glad you asked. The program was designed exclusively for cyclists by Doctors of Physical Therapy who are also cyclists and is great for…
Elite road, gravel, and mountain bike riders
Racers who want to cat up
Cyclists who feel like they’ve plateaued with their training
Riders who feel asymmetrical on the bike
Weekend warriors who want to keep up with a faster group ride
Cyclists who want to get into racing next year
Riders who know they should add in strength training but need help doing that
Cyclists who always feel tight on the bike or after riding
The program starts at square one and each training day addresses both mobility and strength. Pairing those two domains is incredibly powerful for cyclists.
We’ll teach you what you need to know, even if you currently don’t know what a Romanian deadlift or a split squat is (and why you should be doing them).

What do I get?
A four week program designed to…
Decrease asymmetries in your pelvis, legs, and rib cage
Teach you to connect with muscles that cyclists typically underuse
Build strength, resiliency, and intermuscular coordination without sacrificing your position on the bike
Improve the efficiency of your pedal stroke by coordinating your glutes, hamstrings, calves, and quads
Improve length of muscles without decreasing the muscles’ ability to activate
